REGISTRATION FORM Athletes WorkshopThe Competition will be preceded by an Athletes Workshop scheduled for Thursday, 3rd October 2024, Full details of the Workshop will be shared to membership and will be published on our website and Social Media platforms.1. Competition SectionsThe following are the competition sections that will be danced during the 2024 SA Achiever and National Championships: 1.1. Main Stream Sections Level 1 to Level 4, Rising Star, Open Championship sections: Juvenile I and II, Junior I and II, Youth, Adult, Senior I, II and III Closed Championship Sections: Junior II, Youth, Under 21, Adult, Senior I,II and III, Professional International and Pro-Am 1.2. All Girls/Special Sections • All-Girls sections: The all girls sections will be treated as new sections and as such to enter in these sections, dancers will pay a full competition entry fee. Only levels 1 – 3 will be allowed to dance the all-girls sections. The minimum couples for all-girls section to be danced is three (3) couples. If there are two or less couples, the sections will be combined irrespective of age groups. Physically Challenged Sections: The competition will cater for special sections as defined by respective studios. For physicalimpairment, the entry form must clearly define the type of physical challenge to ensure that athletes are grouped accordingly and that the groupings display similar forms of physical challenges. Couples who are not physically challenged do not qualify under this category Solos/Singles: These sections cater for solos (dancing without a partner)/singles where one dancer is accompanied either by ateacher/ or another competing dancer. Appropriate age groups will apply. 2. Qualification Criteria The competition is open to all dancers irrespective of affiliation. Please note that the competition will run from 4th to 5th October 2024. Level 1– 4, Solos & Singles (level 1 to Championship), Rising Star (rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals), Open Championship (rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals) will dance on the 4th October 2024; Rising Star Finals and all Closed National Championship sections will dance on 5th October 2024. Championship dancers in the Closed National Championships to note that the competition age category should match the age group that the dancer will fall within during the 2025 WDSF World Championships (see rules on age groups on page 5 of this form). All Championship and Professional athletes competing in the Closed National Championships MUST be registered for theWDSF e-Card before the NCL1 to obtain their WDSF Membership Identification Number (MIN). Already registered athletes must renew their MIN numbers upon receipt of a reminder from the WDSF Admin. General Information By entering to compete in this event, the competitor/athlete/dancer agrees to abide by the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa National rules and terms and conditions applicable, outlined in this document and contained in the Federation’s constitution, rule book and other applicable bylaws. In the interest of time and convenience for all the participants, no delays will be accommodated as this might lead to competitions finishing too late. In order to ensure that every section runs on time, no new entries or changes will beaccommodated on the day of the competition. The registration desk will also be opened a day before the competition to eliminate unnecessary delays. The stage area is reserved for Event Officials and Guests only Right of admission to the competition is strictly reserved. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the competition venue. No persons under the influence of alcohol will be allowed entry into the venue. Competition Rules & Regulations3. REGISTRATION & ENTRIES All Federation of Dance Sport South Africa athletes must be paid up, registered members for 2024 Please ensure that you bring your original proof of payment to registration desk as it will be required to register. Late entries and entries received without proof of payment will NOT BE ACCEPTED. Entries may only be submitted on the official competition entry form. Sections will be combined or cancelled if insufficient entries are received, in accordance with the rules. Competitors must note starting times, sections will not be re-danced due to late arrivals. Athletes have to report to the marshalling area at least 5 sections before their sections are to be danced. Temporary cloth numbers will be available at the competition at a Refundable deposit of R20 for ALL athletes. Dancers usingunauthorized numbers will be disqualified. Only individuals that paid for table seats to occupy seats and/specific areas – this will be checked on a regular basis. So, please hold on to your ticket/tag. Non-officiating PABs, DTO’s must purchase a ticket to gain entry to the competition. 4. SYLLABUS & DRESS CODE NATIONAL SYLLABUS & DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. All members are urged to seek information from their PAB if necessary. These are available from the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa website and Social Media pages. Athletes who do not adhere to the Dress Code will not be allowed to take the floor. Juvenile I & II and Junior I & II in all levels are not allowed to wear make-up, earrings, base, and dresses with sequins or Swarovski’s on their dresses. Junior I boys are only allowed to wear black or midnight blue Latin tops with no decoration or bling. Junior I Championship girls are allowed to wear competition dresses, but no feathers, sequins or Swarovski on the dresses. No make - up and no jewellery to be worn. Junior I & II Novice girls should be dressed in a leotard and skirt. No make- up or jewellery is allowed. The girls dancing in the Juvenile I & II Championship sections MUST wear the leotard and skirt. No make-up. Fancy dresses with bling are not allowed in these sections. 5. NO SMOKING POLICY Smoking is strictly forbidden in all areas of the venue! The venue operators will impose a fine on anyone caught smoking in the venue. 6. BEHAVIOUR OF ATHLETES AND SPECTATORS Club heads must ensure the well behaviour of their athletes and spectators. 7. The following age restrictions are obligatory in the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa Competitions: Juvenile I: reach 9th birthday or less in the calendar yearJuvenile II: reach 10th and 11st birthday in the calendar yearJunior I: reach 12nd and 13th birthday in the calendar yearJunior II: reach 14th and 15th birthday in the calendar yearYouth: reach 16th,17th, and18th birthday in the calendar yearUnder 21: reach 16th to 20th birthday in the calendar yearAdult: reach 19th birthday or more in the calendar yearSenior I: one partner must have reached his /her 35th birthday or more in the calendar year, The other partner must have reached her/his 30th birthday or more in the calendar year.Senior II: one partner must have reached his/her 45th birthday or more in the calendar year, the other partner must have reached her/his 40th birthday or more in the calendar year.Senior III: one partner must have reached his/ her 55th birthday or more in the calendar year, the other partner must have reached her or his 50th birthday or more in the calendar year.Senior IV: one partner must have reached his or her 65th birthday or more in the calendar year.
